THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER 1.

In weariness and painfulness, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness. 2 Corinthians 11:27

The need for fasting and prayer in our Christian walk as believers cannot be overemphasized. Fasting is indispensable. Ever believer who desires spiritual growth, access to great dimensions of God's glory and power must be committed to consistent lifestyle of fasting and prayer.

The spiritual above 2 Corinthians, reveals a powerful secret of Apostle Paul. The secret of the success and exploit of a man can be traceable to what he does often and not occasionally.

Here, Apostle Paul makes us understand that he gave himself to fasting often. This undoubtedly show us what we must also dedicate ourselves to especially at this time of the year.

1 Corinthians 11:1 says: Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. As we imitate Apostle Paul and follow suit, we will begin to experience the supernatural exploits in our time and day as seen in bible days.

We live in a generation where many desire greatness and just wish to accomplish what the Apostles of old accomplished but not willing to pay the price they paid. Beloved, greatness and success in life is not cheap and doesn't come easy. But it is obtainable and possible to those who are willing to do whatever it demands to get it. Don't just wish for it, pursue it and you will get a hold of it in Jesus name.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Four things happen to you as you wait upon the LORD through fasting:

1. Your strength is renewed

2. You become high flyer

3. You enjoy supernatural strength and vitality.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Be joyful always;

PRAY WITH ME:

1. OH LORD, AS I TARRY IN YOUR PRESENCE THROUGH FASTING AND PRAYERS, SHOW ME YOUR GLORY THIS YEAR AND MAKE ME A LIVING TESTIMONY IN JESUS NAME.

2. I DRAW STRENGTH FOR THE RACE THROUGH PRAYER THIS WEEK IN JESUS NAME.

3. I COME AGAINST EVERY ATTACK OF THE ENEMY TO STOP MY COMMITTMENT TO GOD THROUGH PRAYER IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER 2 DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE!

"But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting". You may not know what the future holds and that is the more reason why you should hold unto the one who holds the future. God knows what lies ahead of us this year and as we connect with him through prayer and fasting he empowers us to overcome, prevail and win over every battle, challenges and attacks of the enemy that may come our way. From the Scripture above tells us about the response of Jesus to his disciples when they were faced with an impossible situation that has to do with a man whose son was sick. The disciples tried all they could but their efforts to heal the young man was not fruitful. When Jesus showed up, the seemingly impossible situation became possible. Jesus was able to heal the man's son. So the disciples were amazed and they asked Jesus why they couldn't do it. I declare: May Jesus shows up in your marriage, shows up in your finances, family in the name of Jesus. Where your strength...

GODS' PROMISES

The Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. (Genesis 21:1-2) Understand that our God is a Covenant Keeping God. Whatever God says He will do, that, He will surely do. He has the capacity and capability to do it. Jesus was speaking to His disciples and said; “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible”. (Mark 10:27). Whatever promise God has for you in His word, He is able to bring it to pass. But the things that bring about the delays are; unbelief, doubt, fear, and sin (Mark 11:23). Make sure you deal with these four things and stop them before they stop you from possessing your possession. Do you also desire the fruit of the womb like Sarah? THE BLESSING OF FRUITHFULNESS.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." Genesis 1:28 NLT The first blessing that was released on man is the blessing of fruitfulness. What does it mean to be fruitful. Fruitfulness is the empowerment to bear fruits. Another word for fruitfulness is to be productive; to generate results; to prosper. God planted man on earth as a seed, expected man to bear fruits. When a man is barren, his prayer can be hindered. Why? Because man was designed to bear fruits in as much you're not bearing fruit your prayer can be hindered. You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that my Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. ( John 15:16).
