THE JOY OF SERVING GOD

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”. - Joshua 24:15

Joshua certainly understood how joyful it was to serve the LORD. So many do not understand the benefits of serving the LORD. Joshua refused to follow the opinions of the majority of the people but made it his personal decision to serve the Lord with his household. Serving the Lord has to be a personal decision you make with God. Even when others refuse to yield themselves to the work of God because of their ignorance of the blessings of service, you would joyfully make yourself a vessel that God can use at all times because you have understanding of God’s blessings.

Few reasons why many do not serve the Lord:

1. They think they don’t have the time.
2. They will do it later.
3. They are afraid that God can’t use them
4. They are users and not lovers of God.

Few reasons why you should serve the Lord;

1. It guarantees access to the abundance of all things – Deuteronomy 28:47 (KJV)
2. It gives access to the blessings of God and divine health. – Exodus 23 : 25 (NIV)
3. Because you love him. Knowing that God first loved you and gave His son for you. You too must give him your time, life and resources. Nothing truly satisfies in this life than to live a life that is totally dedicated to the service of God. May the Holy Spirit birth in you a desire to serve the Lord from today in Jesus name.

Malachi 3:13-16 NLT  .............."You have said terrible things about me,"says the LORD.
"But you say, What do you mean? How have we spoken against you?' You have said, 'What's the use of serving God? What have we gained by obeying his commands or by trying to show the LORD Almighty that we are sorry for our sins? From now on we will say, " Blessed are the arrogant. "For those who do evil get rich, and those who dare God to punish them go free of harm."

1 Corinthians 15:58KJV Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

My husband does say, God is not a user of man, but He is a Blesser of man. God doesn't use man and dump him as human does. You serve Him, He blesses you in return.

Deuteronomy 11:13KJV  And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, I receive the grace to continually stay active in my service to you at all times in Jesus name.
2. I come against anything that stands to distract and hinder me from my service to you in Jesus name.

Prayer of Salvation:
Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe you died for me and resurrected for my justification. Today, I confess with my mouth that I accept Jesus into my life as my LORD and Saviour, I receive forgiveness of all my sins. I'm born again. Thank you Lord for the Salvation of my soul.

THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER 2 DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE!

"But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting". You may not know what the future holds and that is the more reason why you should hold unto the one who holds the future. God knows what lies ahead of us this year and as we connect with him through prayer and fasting he empowers us to overcome, prevail and win over every battle, challenges and attacks of the enemy that may come our way. From the Scripture above tells us about the response of Jesus to his disciples when they were faced with an impossible situation that has to do with a man whose son was sick. The disciples tried all they could but their efforts to heal the young man was not fruitful. When Jesus showed up, the seemingly impossible situation became possible. Jesus was able to heal the man's son. So the disciples were amazed and they asked Jesus why they couldn't do it.  I declare: May Jesus shows up in your marriage, shows up in your finances, family in the name of Jesus. Where your strength...

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses (I Timothy 6:12). In the journey of life, battles are not optional but mandatory. Even at birth, a child must be made to cry. At that point, he fights to overcome the force that wants to keep his lungs closed; so as to  live. Henceforth, various battles begin.  When one becomes born again, the dynamics of the fight changes. He will still fight but this time around it is a good fight. The bible calls it the “Good Fight of Faith”. The fight is a good fight; the weaponry is also a unique one, FAITH. So a believer fights the good fight of faith, this fight is  termed a good fight because the end is determined from the beginning. Victory is guaranteed at the end. It is a fight to be won. Halleluyah! It is like watching a replayed boxing match whose winner you already know. The same way, God is not bothered about what fight ...

THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER 1.

In weariness and painfulness, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness. 2 Corinthians 11:27 The need for fasting and prayer in our Christian walk as believers cannot be overemphasized. Fasting is indispensable. Ever believer who desires spiritual growth, access to great dimensions of God's glory and power must be committed to consistent lifestyle of fasting and prayer. The spiritual above 2 Corinthians, reveals a powerful secret of Apostle Paul.  The secret of the success and exploit of a man can be traceable to what he does often and not occasionally.  Here, Apostle Paul makes us understand that he gave himself to fasting often. This undoubtedly show us what we must also dedicate ourselves to especially at this time of the year. 1 Corinthians 11:1 says: Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. As we imitate Apostle Paul and follow suit, we will begin to experience the supernatural exploits in our time and day as seen in bible days. ...
