CHECK YOUR HEART

But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7)

So much to learn from the above Scripture. Firstly, how could a man be rejected by God and he is not even aware? Oh Lord, for your mercy where I have been rejected I call for acceptance in Jesus name. Oh Lord, place a mark of acceptance upon me and all I do in Jesus name.

To be 'rejected' means Eliab was initially chosen by God. Therefore, by God's divine plan, David's eldest brother Eliab was supposed to have been the one ordained as king, but because he was rejected, David took his place. Amazing isn't it?

To be 'rejected' means unacceptable, not given approval to, to discard useless, unsatisfactory, etc.

Eliab will spend all his life reverencing his younger brother David, who God placed in a position of leadership over him, not knowing the leadership position was originally his. Let me ask you a question. Why was Eliab's position given to David? The reason was that his heart was not right before God. Though he was handsome, tall, probably chubby, elonquent, but he was not qualified for kingship. My God!

Could it be possible that your case is like that of Eliab? You are busy admiring and celebrating someone else, not knowing that position was supposed to be yours, but your heart wasn't right with God.

What made God disqualified Eliab?
1. PRIDE: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). The more you tried to move God Himself resist you. Eliab was never grateful for the favor done to him. 1 Sam. 17:28 says; when Eliab, David's eldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he turned with anger at him and asked, "why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.
This is the same man David risked his life for at the battle field to give food. He referred to him as a wicked man. Eliab was proud!
2. Eliab was a liar. David came to give them food. He lied that David came to watch the battle.
3. He was a man quick to anger. You can see his response to David at the battle field.

These few factors made him to be disqualified in the sight of God. Beloved, is  your heart right with God? To be rejected is to be considered unacceptable, discard as useless. Check your heart and make sure the Glory meant for you is not given to another.

1 Peter 5:5-6  Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All if you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, " God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
6. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
I will like you to say these words of
PRAYER:
1. Father, cleanse my heart today from every impurities of the flesh, and forgive me anywhere I have allowed pride into my heart.
2. The love of God in my heart overflows to everyone God brings in contact with me today in Jesus name. Amen.

THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER 2 DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE!

"But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting". You may not know what the future holds and that is the more reason why you should hold unto the one who holds the future. God knows what lies ahead of us this year and as we connect with him through prayer and fasting he empowers us to overcome, prevail and win over every battle, challenges and attacks of the enemy that may come our way. From the Scripture above tells us about the response of Jesus to his disciples when they were faced with an impossible situation that has to do with a man whose son was sick. The disciples tried all they could but their efforts to heal the young man was not fruitful. When Jesus showed up, the seemingly impossible situation became possible. Jesus was able to heal the man's son. So the disciples were amazed and they asked Jesus why they couldn't do it.  I declare: May Jesus shows up in your marriage, shows up in your finances, family in the name of Jesus. Where your strength...

KEEP YOUR TONGUE AWAY FROM EVIL

As the Scripture says, “If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep your tongue from speaking evil and stop telling lies.  -1 Peter 3:10 (GNT) A lot of people desire not only to have a successful life, but also to enjoy life, but the reality is this; only few adhere to the principles that would eventually lead to having an enjoyable and productive life. From our scriptural text, we understand that one of the keys that guarantee access to an enjoyable life is to keep our tongue from speaking evil and to stay away from lies. Your life moves in the direction of your words. If you don’t like where your life is headed, then it is time to examine what has been coming out of your mouth. Any man that cannot have control over his tongue, cannot have control over his life as well. Proverbs 6:2 NIV says, “you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth". A lot of people have been trapped by the words they said. The struggle and ...

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses (I Timothy 6:12). In the journey of life, battles are not optional but mandatory. Even at birth, a child must be made to cry. At that point, he fights to overcome the force that wants to keep his lungs closed; so as to  live. Henceforth, various battles begin.  When one becomes born again, the dynamics of the fight changes. He will still fight but this time around it is a good fight. The bible calls it the “Good Fight of Faith”. The fight is a good fight; the weaponry is also a unique one, FAITH. So a believer fights the good fight of faith, this fight is  termed a good fight because the end is determined from the beginning. Victory is guaranteed at the end. It is a fight to be won. Halleluyah! It is like watching a replayed boxing match whose winner you already know. The same way, God is not bothered about what fight ...
