CHECK YOUR HEART

But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7)

So much to learn from the above Scripture. Firstly, how could a man be rejected by God and he is not even aware? Oh Lord, for your mercy where I have been rejected I call for acceptance in Jesus name. Oh Lord, place a mark of acceptance upon me and all I do in Jesus name.

To be 'rejected' means Eliab was initially chosen by God. Therefore, by God's divine plan, David's eldest brother Eliab was supposed to have been the one ordained as king, but because he was rejected, David took his place. Amazing isn't it?

To be 'rejected' means unacceptable, not given approval to, to discard useless, unsatisfactory, etc.

Eliab will spend all his life reverencing his younger brother David, who God placed in a position of leadership over him, not knowing the leadership position was originally his. Let me ask you a question. Why was Eliab's position given to David? The reason was that his heart was not right before God. Though he was handsome, tall, probably chubby, elonquent, but he was not qualified for kingship. My God!

Could it be possible that your case is like that of Eliab? You are busy admiring and celebrating someone else, not knowing that position was supposed to be yours, but your heart wasn't right with God.

What made God disqualified Eliab?
1. PRIDE: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). The more you tried to move God Himself resist you. Eliab was never grateful for the favor done to him. 1 Sam. 17:28 says; when Eliab, David's eldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he turned with anger at him and asked, "why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.
This is the same man David risked his life for at the battle field to give food. He referred to him as a wicked man. Eliab was proud!
2. Eliab was a liar. David came to give them food. He lied that David came to watch the battle.
3. He was a man quick to anger. You can see his response to David at the battle field.

These few factors made him to be disqualified in the sight of God. Beloved, is  your heart right with God? To be rejected is to be considered unacceptable, discard as useless. Check your heart and make sure the Glory meant for you is not given to another.

1 Peter 5:5-6  Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All if you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, " God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
6. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
I will like you to say these words of
PRAYER:
1. Father, cleanse my heart today from every impurities of the flesh, and forgive me anywhere I have allowed pride into my heart.
2. The love of God in my heart overflows to everyone God brings in contact with me today in Jesus name. Amen.

LISTEN TO GODS' VOICE TODAY

"Today if you hear God’s voice speaking to you, do not harden your hearts against Him, as the people of Israel did when they rebelled against Him in the desert.” (Hebrew 3:15). God speaks to his creation at all times. As we read the bible we see instances where God spoke to unbelievers, example; Saul,  Nebuchadnezzar etc. Jesus spoke to the wind and it obeyed him, He also spoke to the fig tree. How much more you his child. It is an error for you to say you can’t hear his voice.  Jesus speaking in..…John 10:27 said; “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”  As Gods' children, we have the capacity and the ability to hear His voice. But the challenge is; a lot of us do not pay attention and listen to what God is saying. Probably because we are waiting to have the Saul’s encounter of a voice speaking from heaven (Act 9:4). God speaks to us in our spirit with a small still voice. Prophet Elijah had an encounter with this voice… II Kings 19:12 -13 “...and after

START WITH PRAYER.

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14 Starting the year in prayerlessness is a very dangerous move to make. From the scripture above, we see David placing a demand on God in the place of prayer for early satisfaction. He is asking God God to satisfy him early with mercy. Why was he specific by adding "early" and not just saying oh Lord satisfy us with your mercy? The mistake most of us make in our prayer, is failure to be specific and detailed in our prayer. The demand for earl satisfaction will result to early accomplishment and achievements. Now is the time for you to learn this wisdom from David and tell the Lord that you desire to be satisfied early in 2021 with his mercy, favour, goodness, presence, wisdom, success and vision. Halleluyah! Lateness and delay is when the achievement of January is accomplished in December. May you not be found sleeping while your mate are succeeding, maximising their year and prosperin

THE POWER OF PATIENCE.

But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my saviour; my God will hear me (Micah 7:7). One of the characteristics of a matured believer is in his or her ability to patiently wait on God for his intervention even in the midst of fierce oppositions and challenges. From the anchor scripture, we see the prophet making this his personal choice- “But as for me”. He was intentional about it. You see, in life, you have to understand that following the crowd always can make you miss out on God’s plan for your life. There are decisions you have to make of which other people may never support or understand, because you desire to please God with your life and not man. Others may choose to cut corners, seek for short cuts which will ultimately cut them short. Some cheat their way through due to impatience, pressure to fit in, and low self-esteem. As believers, our response to life ought to be different. Prophet Micah said “I wait in hope for the LORD” do you know that, ho
