BE ON THE ALERT!

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

When you lack caution and sensitivity, destiny can be entrapped. Life is not a playground and as such, carelessness must never be entertained. Understand that you have an enemy. I am talking about an adversary you cannot see. Satan is not just the adversary, but Apostle Peter in our scriptural text makes us to see that Satan is "YOUR ADVERSARY"! you should take that personally. Satan often disguise himself as an angel of light and pretends to be an ally for your good (2 Corinthians 11:14). For example:
  • He deceived Eve to eat the fruit. Genesis 3:1-7
  • He incited King David to take another man's wife and later to proudly count his people (2 Samuel 11:1, 1 Chronicle 2:1).
  • He moved Ananias and Sapphira to lie (Acts 5:3).
  • Entered into Judas to betray Jesus.
All through the Bible we see the deceptive scheme of Satan in operating successfully through the weakness of men. that is why the Bible admonishes us to lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us (Hebrew 12:1). Be on the alert. Do not act on any ideas, decision and thoughts that come into your mind. Always test the spirit, pray about everything and seek counsel from your pastor. The devil is very subtle and deceptive. May the Lord grant you a discerning spirit and a vigilant heart in Jesus name. This weekend, you will experience a new manifestation of God in your life. You can never be a victim anymore but a victor. Glory to God!

Luke 21:36 NIV This is the profound words of Jesus saying, "Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man. CONSISTENT WATCH AND PRAY. These are the key words that enable your ESCAPE and TENACITY in the world of today.

Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what He will say to me, and what answer i am to give to this complaint.

Don't be engrossed with a bunch of distractions everywhere, BE ON THE ALERT! BE FOCUS. I see you a VICTOR, not a VICTIM in Jesus name.

 PRAYER POINTS:
  1. Father i thank you for this revelation and i pray you increase my sensitivity and discernment in Jesus name.
  2. Holy Spirit keep me alert in prayers at all times in Jesus name.
PRAYER OF SALVATION:
We believe you have been blessed by this devotional. We invite you to make Jesus Christ the LORD of your life by praying this now;
Father, i come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, i believe you died for me and resurrected for my justification. Today, i confess with my mouth that i accept Jesus into my life as my Lord and Saviour, i receive forgiveness of all my sins. I'm born again. Thank you Lord for the salvation of my soul. Halleluyah!

LISTEN TO GODS' VOICE TODAY

"Today if you hear God’s voice speaking to you, do not harden your hearts against Him, as the people of Israel did when they rebelled against Him in the desert.” (Hebrew 3:15). God speaks to his creation at all times. As we read the bible we see instances where God spoke to unbelievers, example; Saul,  Nebuchadnezzar etc. Jesus spoke to the wind and it obeyed him, He also spoke to the fig tree. How much more you his child. It is an error for you to say you can’t hear his voice.  Jesus speaking in..…John 10:27 said; “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”  As Gods' children, we have the capacity and the ability to hear His voice. But the challenge is; a lot of us do not pay attention and listen to what God is saying. Probably because we are waiting to have the Saul’s encounter of a voice speaking from heaven (Act 9:4). God speaks to us in our spirit with a small still voice. Prophet Elijah had an encounter with this voice… II Kings 19:12 -13 “...and after

DON'T BE AFRAID OF THEIR THREAT

But that it spreads no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. Acts 4:17 There are people who live relatively free from persecution even though they may have experienced some mockery, ridicule or ostracism because of their beliefs. One thing we must never do is to fear punishment or death, although some Christians elsewhere in the world are killed for their faith. From the scriptural text, we noticed that Peter and John were threatened for proclaiming the gospel, but here is their response in Acts 4:20; "Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than Him? We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard". (NLT) Our goal as believers is to become unshakable in our faith. Peter and John didn't flinch from their responsibility to proclaim salvation in Jesus name even in the face of imprisonment and threats. Yet, in reading this account, we may wonder how we could ever endure persecutio

THE JOY OF SERVING GOD

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”. - Joshua 24:15 Joshua certainly understood how joyful it was to serve the LORD. So many do not understand the benefits of serving the LORD. Joshua refused to follow the opinions of the majority of the people but made it his personal decision to serve the Lord with his household. Serving the Lord has to be a personal decision you make with God. Even when others refuse to yield themselves to the work of God because of their ignorance of the blessings of service, you would joyfully make yourself a vessel that God can use at all times because you have understanding of God’s blessings. Few reasons why many do not serve the Lord: 1. They think they don’t have the time. 2. They will do it later. 3. T
